Private label by product: earrings, necklaces, anklets and bangles

Private label earrings, necklaces, anklets and bangles each raise different points: weight and posts, lengths and clasps, sizes and fit. Here is what to specify for each.

Private label earrings, necklaces, anklets and bangles share the same process, but each category has its own specification traps: weight and posts for earrings, length and clasps for necklaces, adjustability for anklets, and exact inner diameter for bangles. Decide these before you ask for a quote.

General private label rules, including minimums and mould ownership, are covered in MOQ for private-label jewellery from Rajkot.

Private label earrings

Pairs deserve special attention. Ask the factory to match the two earrings by weight and to check that the posts align, because a visible mismatch is a common complaint. Packing each pair on a card also protects the plating during shipping and makes branded display easier.

Earrings are worn close to the skin, so the post and back matter. Specify the post material and ask for nickel-free fittings if your market needs them. Keep an eye on weight, because heavy earrings are uncomfortable and are returned.

Choose the earring type from the styles in earring types you can source from Rajkot. Branding is usually a card or a tag, since the pieces are small.

Private label necklaces

Check the clasp strength and chain joints by hand on a sample. Necklaces most often fail at the clasp or at a soldered link, long before the plating wears. For heavier sets, ask whether the chain is soldered or simply bent closed, since the second type opens under tension.

For necklaces, state the length, chain type and clasp. Different markets prefer different lengths, covered in which necklace lengths to order for your market. Add an extender chain if you want one length to suit several customers.

For necklace sets, order the earrings and necklace together in one run so the plating and stone colour match.

Private label anklets

Anklets are usually chain-based and adjustable. Check the closure and the adjustable range, since a fixed size will not suit most buyers. Bells and small decorative parts need a strong attachment, and for children's markets small parts rules may apply.

Private label bangles

Bangles are sized by inner diameter, and Indian sizes do not match international ones. Convert carefully and order a spread of sizes. Read Indian bangle sizes explained before you finalise the size split.

Bangles also take the most abuse, so check the plating on the inner and outer surface and the strength of any stone setting.

A short checklist for any category

Order a small mixed sample from each category first, and review them together as a collection. Differences in plating tone between earrings and bangles from separate workshops are easy to miss when you look at pieces one at a time and obvious once they sit side by side on a customer's table. If you want the range to match, say so, and ask whether one workshop can plate the whole set.

Whatever the product, confirm the following points before the first order:

  • The exact size, weight and plating written into the specification.
  • The test requirements for the destination market.
  • Who owns the tooling and whether designs are exclusive.
  • The packaging, tags and labelling you need.

Next step

We match each product to a workshop that specialises in it, then check samples and supervise production. Book a free sourcing review to plan a private label line across these categories.
