There is no reliable Morbi tiles price list, and a list labelled 2026 or 'rate today' will be out of date before you use it. Factory quotes depend on the exact tile, the grade, the quantity, the packing and the day the quote is written.
What you can get is a written quote on your own specification, valid for a stated period. This article explains why public lists mislead and how to collect quotes you can compare.
Why do price lists go stale?
Tile production costs move with fuel, as explained in how gas prices affect Morbi tile costs. Factories respond by changing quotes, shortening validity, or both. A list copied from a trader's site or a forum shows a past moment, not a current offer.
Lists also leave out the details that decide cost: size, thickness, finish, number of faces, grade and packing. See what affects tile prices. Two lines that look alike on a list can describe different goods.
What should you send to get a real quote?
A factory can only quote what you describe. Send the same sheet to every plant so the answers line up:
- Tile type, size and thickness, and the finish you want.
- The designs, or the catalogue references, and how many faces each needs.
- The grade you will accept, in the factory's own grading terms and in yours.
- The quantity per design and in total, and whether you will mix designs in one container.
- The packing and marking you require, and the Incoterm you want the quote on.
- The port of destination and the shipment window.
How do you compare the quotes you get back?
Check four things before you look at the bottom line. Is the unit the same, per box, per square metre or per piece? Is the grade the same? Does the quote say how long it stays valid? And does it state what is included in the term, for example loading and export clearance?
Comparing quotes from Morbi factories walks through this in detail. A low quote with a thin specification is often a different product.
What about quote validity?
Ask for the validity in writing, with the date. If fuel or freight moves sharply, a factory may withdraw or re-quote, so agree in advance what happens to an accepted order. Placing the order with an advance and a signed proforma invoice fixes the terms for both sides.
What should a good quote say?
A usable quote names the product by code or sample, the size and thickness, the grade, the unit and area per box, the Incoterm and port, the packing, the payment terms and the validity date. If any of these is missing, ask for a corrected version before you compare it with another.
Keep every version. If a quote changes after you ask a question, the earlier version shows what was first offered. Ask the factory to confirm in writing that production will match the approved sample, and that the quoted grade is what will be loaded.
